2001 V70-T5. Performance-Reduced

Hello All, On Friday I was driving at about 60 MPH at steady throttle when the dreaded "Performance-Reduced" appeared and I became a slow moving hazard to others. I tried ignition off then a re-start but no-good. Had to pull the ECM fuse (6) in main fuse box. Then managed to get about anot...

Re: Query about 2001 V70-T5 with runlock fitted

Hello Bill, Sorry I have not responded earlier, I have been tucked-up on lots of other things... Yes, I agree that Reg 107 does show what was in your excerpt. I have looked and noted that I am reading from the same vintage. However, further down, it reads the following shewn in italic-bold-underline...

Re: Query about 2001 V70-T5 with runlock fitted

Hello JRL, Runlock is really a generic term for a number of manufacturers products... Some call it an "Ignition Control Unit". It is fitted to allow the vehicle's engine to be left running, to stop battery running down when lights, radios etc left on. It allows the ignition key to be remov...

Query about 2001 V70-T5 with runlock fitted

Hello all, Do any of you have any connection info on the vehicle mentioned above. I know that they are regularly fitted with a form of runlock when they are police or ambulance vehicles, mine was in it's former life. All original extra wiring appears to have been cut-back, so does not go to where it...

Re: Radiator fan only runs on high

Hello DNA316, Cooling fan has permanent 12 volts across the two heavy-duty wires when ignition is on. The thin wire carries the control signal from the ECM to the fan control module mounted on the fan. The signals to operate the fan are "pulse-width-modulated" on to this small wire, which ...

Re: Non-starter, cranks OK. 2001, V70-T5

Hello CountryBum-kin,

Thanks for your thoughts also. The fuel around here is normally good and I have no leaks into the tank.

I have now sorted my problem, as you will see above. Thanks again.

Happy New Year.

Re: Non-starter, cranks OK. 2001, V70-T5

Hello DGM, Thanks for your thoughts. It did cross my mind as there was very little petrol in the car. I put a gallon in, just in case. Up until Saturday morning, the car always started even though I thought the battery was a bit suspect. It appears I was operating on "borrowed time". I hav...

Re: Parts failure poll: P2 Volvos: V70/S60/XC70 from 2001-20

Over the 8 years that I have had my V70-T5 I have had to replace:- Throttle-body ( Magnetti-Marrelli .. of-course ) Front brake-discs twice Rear brake-discs once Heater-radiator soon after I got it ( at 110,000 miles ) Numerous front anti-rollbar drop-links.... Thought that they were a yearly requir...

Non-starter, cranks OK. 2001, V70-T5

Hello All, Before anyone mentions it, I have had a trawl through the "Crank, No-start" section of this site... On Friday my car was OK, no problems starting. On Saturday morning... Crank, No-start ! It has petrol and the pump runs. I have tried both keys for the car... same symptom. No cod...

Re: 2004 V70 - Alarm Service Required

Hello E Showell, My V70-T5 also shows this each time the remote has been used to set the alarm and then unlocked. It has done this for ages. It is due to the back-up battery in the alarm unit ( in wheel-arch apparently ) not holding it's charge and hence unable to provide power for the alarm sounder...
