SOLD 2004 XC70 199k $2500
SOLD A few hundred miles short of 199,000! I've had this as my daily driver for the last 7 years and it is my third Volvo. The past 2.5 years it has been commuting comfortably for 2 hours a day with avg mpg of 27. Now it has been replaced by a new Mazda ;) If I had another parking space I would kee...

Re: 04 XC70 dash clock gains time
What functions go dead when the DIM fails? I have a scangauge stuck to the top of the steering column cover and could use that to display mph, rpm, fuel level and whatever if needed. It was more useful in my old 98 V70 I used to have then I put it in the xc. I miss having a fuel gauge marked in gall...

Re: 04 XC70 dash clock gains time
Thanks for the replies. The build date is April 04. I looked at xemodex's site for the DIM repair, Our repair resolves issues with intermediate or permanent operation, no communication, self-advancing clock , scrambled message display, twitchy gauges. So I may end up sending it to them if other issu...

04 XC70 dash clock gains time
This is an odd one, every three or four days I will notice that the dash clock has gained a couple of minutes. I've gotten in the habit of checking it to my atomic calibrated watch every time I get in and adjusting the clock accordingly. It's always gained minutes, never behind. The car battery is o...

Re: Decrease your chances of CEM or DIM failure with a FAN
Is that fan pulling air out from above or blowing it in?

Re: '97 850 Throbbing Idle and 2nd gear "slippage"
New MAF fixed mine, resetting the ecu helped too. Make sure you check for cracks on all the pleats on the intake tube between the MAF and throttle.

Re: '97 850 Throbbing Idle and 2nd gear "slippage"
I got my airbox stuff all back together after cleaning and fired it up. Started fine and idled normally while I checked the voltage at the MAF pin #4. It was steady around 1.1v so I went for a 20 mile drive and it was problem free. I took the car out again a few hours later and the symptoms came bac...

Re: '97 850 Throbbing Idle and 2nd gear "slippage"
Wow, I just started having the same problem and we are both in Worcester. It would stumble at idle once in a while, just off idle, and sometimes going ~40mph around 2k rpm. Mine is an automatic and after it stalled out once today trying to merge on rt 9 I went home and checked all the same things yo...

Re: I made a thing! 240 seats as furniture
I wanted to use a console but the only ones I could find were these and I didn't want to spend that much on a piece of plastic. I could always transfer the parts though if I decide to get one.

I made a thing! 240 seats as furniture
This is my gearhead ikea project. I think I started on this because my couch was stupid and uncomfortable. Being a Volvo nut, I found a full set of '93 240 sedan seats on ebay for cheap money and the guy even delivered them to me in his 240DL! I stripped the upholstery off to give them a little clea...
