There is a lot less clogging on pcv on the 1999 and later cars. Mine ran 150k on 5k Dino oil changes and was about 10% blocked. I had never cleaned the PTC nipple, either

P80 How overbuilt are the Fuel filters on our P80 Volvo’s?

It’s hard not to eye roll at the ‘plugged fuel filter’ diagnosis. Unlike Uncle Joe’s era, gas stations sell a lot cleaner product than the past, and we rarely see fuel systems getting gunked up. It’s even easier to put the SERP belt on the -1998 if you use the pin to hold the tensioner loose

I think a 3mm hex key slips in the hole and locks the tensioner

Pull the belt to loose position, lock with pin

Install SERP belt

Yell “fire in the hole’

Pull pin.

We get a rash of fuel relay induced no-starts on P80s

Best way to diagnose this is with a fuel pressure measurement. If you don't have this gauge, try some starting fluid to see if she comes to life!

I’ll try the closest ones in my HF kit to see if they leak as an experiment , got a core project coming up.

That sensor won’t alter brake action. As long as your brake lights are working, no safety issues. Is that Manville NJ?

The dealers there are pretty good to work with. You might get help from them and get recall done for free, worth looking into unless fuel pumps are your thing.

One of our other forum Members is doing exactly that, so stay tuned

Re: Timing Belt Change - Aftermath

Those timing belt bits are stuffed in there like Subaru's sparkplugs. I never understand why Volvo didn't move the engine just 1 more inch away from the passenger fender to give more working room. Heck even half an inch would have made it so much easier. Hey...I found that brake light switch! Are y...

Indeed. If the steering boot is loose, you will hear lots of new engine sounds you did not hear before. And the ‘T’ is right near the boot....😀

That evap leak takes a long time to set and won’t set if you drive over 60 mph routinely.

Vacuum likes to leak in hidden places, like those hoses you mention. There is a hard plastic vacuum line that snaps And breaks, on that under manifold PCV pipe.

That crash and then the famous clear air collision of two planes a few years later.....and the FAA and ATC were born. I still get chills listening to how calm those folks are when the chips are down. What are the hexagonal shaped things around the threads on the manifold?

today I replaced crankshaft sensor. I installed it still no luck. I still have crank no start. I tested voltage at the coils and I don't seem to have any significant voltage at any of the wires to the coil. there are 3 wires - 2 outer wires are brown and green/yellow and the middle wire is black.
