Re: '01 v70 base, limp home, no codes, terrible rumble at st
yellow-bat, did you figure out your problem? No one can figure out mine so far. So strange.... when all the codes say ETM but it isn't the module itself, what can it be? I'll research the CAN idea... do you have a link to wiring flow chart of it? Shop says ground on ETM is good (0.0), wiring to ECU ...

Re: '01 v70 base, limp home, no codes, terrible rumble at st
well, I'll skip the in between events/guesswork by one mechanic but the latest is that Xemodex called the shop right when the mechanic had gotten the car to repeat it's performance. They walked the mechanic thru what they wanted tested and agreed it was the ETM. The shop pulled the software codes of...

Re: '01 v70 base, limp home, no codes, terrible rumble at st
thanks for all your input.... shop pulled 914F and 532D codes which they say is definitely etm .... no other codes popped up. talked to Xemodex today - very helpful but they are flummoxed and working with mechanic to figure it out. Will report back with what they find.... would loose wiring somewher...

Xemodex unit is $499 s/w installed so plug and play .... Sacer $469 and needs programming.
Or do you mean I can buy just the sensor itself (for about $100) and not the whole throttle body unit? The mechanic called and it is the ETM again. Now I'll have to decide which way to go from here...

Thanks for the details - good to know that the Autel is so versatile... a good point to get all my siblings to go in on one. Only problem might be -- do they work on Macs? Not sure why the new mechanic reads codes for free but it hasn't hurt his business any! At this point, since he is a distributor...

I was looking here - http://forum.carpartseuro.com/Books/FaultCodes2008/VOLVO-C70-S60-S70-S80-V70-XC70-XC90-FaultCodes-0894.pdf This page that looks like it came from a manual shows it could be -wiring, MAF, MAP, TO regulating valve, ETS, or ECM Can't find anywhere what TO regulating valve is and me...

generic obd ii code was again P1620 ... not investing in VidaDice as I have doubts we will keep this car. Brand new MAF here - part is 30713512 for this car. Did not leave ignition to "ON" for 10 minutes as when we received first Xemodex last yr there was zero issue - slap it in, turn it o...

Re: '01 v70 base, limp home, no codes, terrible rumble at st
any opinion on Sacer vs Volvo vs Xemodex? Xemodex kindly sent me a replacement which we just put on the car and it is running worse than ever. Now it sounds like a dying 3 cylinder and this time had zero power - almost didn't make it home in limp home mode altho as soon as I went over the bump in th...

Re: '01 v70 base, limp home, no codes, terrible rumble at st
That's interesting - I wonder how much a SW reload would run at the dealer? The two local indies here will not deal w/ SW - Volvo just made it too expensive and difficult for them. Talked with Xemodex today and they are sending ETM to me post-haste. Excellent customer service. But Tony there is as s...
