Re: Drive Train Rubbing Noise on Acceleration
Kirby J nailed it. Motor/Transmission mount was shot. I replaced it today and it is a much more civilized-sounding little beastie. Still gonna do the differential fluid. (Oh, and the clicking noise referenced in another post was a bad center-bearing... the new one.... right outa the box. Not my happ...

Re: Drive Train Rubbing Noise on Acceleration
Differential fluid is also on my list. I just bought the car a few weeks ago, so....
I did use it to carry some teenagers from the church youth group last Friday. They all wanted to ride in the rear-racing pair of seats in back!

Re: Drive Train Rubbing Noise on Acceleration
Well, it does need exhaust work, so I'll try that first.

Re: 1994 940 Turn Signal Assembly
The new ones went on fine in about 2 minutes each. Oddly, I not only have a fog light switch, when I hit the switch, it lights a "fog light indicator" on the dash. But there are no foglights, and there's no evidence (modified wiring, unconnected connectors) under the hood that anyone insta...

Drive Train Rubbing Noise on Acceleration
My 1994 940 Wagon, non-turbo, has 258K miles. There is a rubbing sound that comes from the drivetrain when I am accelerating or going up hill. It becomes more pronounced when I have the back-jump seats up. I've already replaced the u-joints and center bearing on the driveshaft. It may be a little qu...

Re: oil trap
I gave up and took it to the mechanic who had pressed the ujoints and center bearing on. He said it looks like I got sold a bad center bearing. I grabbed another, which the parts place said was from a better manufacturer; we shall see. Since the mechanic already had the car, I asked him to go ahead ...

Re: 1994 940 Turn Signal Assembly
Yep. Turns out I don't have fog lights. There's a fog light switch on the dash (!) but no fog lights. Turns out my son's Chevy Silverado truck is the same way. Drove to Old Saybrook today and got the right ones.

Re: 1994 940 Turn Signal Assembly
All the aftermarket ones seem to look the same. Problem seems to be that one of the pins on the back of the new unit is shaped differently than the original.
