I still that upgrade just new caliper brackets and rotors (. 280mm To 305mm)?
I think the factory big bois are 302mm. Brackets, rotors, and hoses. Super easy upgrade when it's brake time, unless your hoses are seized in place like mine were.

How are the calipers holding up?

Worth noting: the factory big brakes use the same calipers and pads as the standard items. Makes for an easy upgrade.

Re: How do you prevent wheel/ tire theft?

Wheel locks won't stop someone who really wants *your* wheels, but nobody's cruising the streets looking for wheels off a 20 year old Volvo. Theft of non-flashy wheels is theft of opportunity. You know what they say - you don't have to be able to outrun the bear, you just have to be able to outrun y...

Re: Swedish car parts and Legacy manufacturing

There are a few online services that will 3D print or CNC parts at relatively reasonable prices based only on a CAD file and maybe a print if you have special requirements. Their machines are much more capable than the typical <$1000 desktop printer. A friend just bought a brand new reproduction mir...

Re: Hilarious take down of the 850/S70

I love Regular Car Reviews. I think the point is more to entertain the audience than to convey useful information; nobody is tuning into Regular Cars so that they can make an informed decision.

Re: New to me 99' S70, base, 5-speed, 209k

A small spot will take a few minutes. Forgot to mention - wash and clay bar the area first so you're not grinding grit into the paint. When you're claying and sanding at the coarsest grit you should feel whatever you're rubbing on the surface become smooth once all the high spots are knocked down. T...

Re: New to me 99' S70, base, 5-speed, 209k

This is very interesting. Would you basically suggest wet sanding the whole top of the car? I will look more into this, maybe I'll try a little area on the roof first. Are you sure about the 800 grit to begin with, that is still very course. The most conservative way is to start with the finest you...

Getchu some sandpaper. A bit of high-grit paper (start at like 800 and work your way up to 2000) will chomp through those scratches, the buffer alone won't do it. Take it slow and be willing to repeat the cycle, and you won't eat through the clear coat.

Re: POLL: How did you buy from FCP?

I've been buying small parts - gaskets, fittings, bolts, etc - at a Volvo dealer that opened a mile or two from my house. Prices are the same as online stores and I usually get what I need right away. Definitely unexpected, but volvopartswebstore and other dealer-affiliated sites show similarly comp...
