Re: Alarm Siren Question

As above, when you lock the doors, do you see the red dash LED blinking ? May also want to drive the car for a while to have the internal siren battery recharged, just to make sure, and check again the siren fuse is good

Re: Replaced Ignition coil Misfire cylinder #1

If a coil, spark plug or injector is bad it's easy to check it. Check the rear block ground wire just behind Cyl #1. For the cruise control, it may be a vacuum issue so check all hoses around the turbo, or sometimes the brake switch sensor at the brake booster.

Re: CEM Failure Symptoms

I was getting a "brake" message when connected, it was a faulty relay but I had the older 01-03 CEM model. People were saying this could be because of a BCM "partial" internal issue. For the CEM the easiest is to look with a flash light under the dash for dry traces of water on the module. You may a...

Re: Wheel nuts...

There is the other UK forum where stuck wheel lock nuts are a common complaint, these appear the get stuck very hard, you will find on that forum a few tricks. One thing that can also help preventing stuck nuts is to clean the bead surface of the wheel, and maybe to spread a small amount of antiseiz...

Re: Wheel nuts...

THe washer ones are better because it prevents friction at the wheel alloy seat: the washer stays fixed and the lug rotates around the washer. On the non washer ones the lug rotates directly against the wheel seat and tends to have too much friction making correct tightening torque difficult to obta...

Re: 2008 XC70 AC weak airflow

See the two answers above, make sure the filter is clean, and look inside the engine bay if the AC lines got frozen. That will be a faulty evap sensor. Otherwise, you may have an issue with the CCM blend doors, possibly from a faulty cabin temp thermistor (different part), or some CCM calibration is...

Re: Outter TIe rod replaced now out of alignment

It is too late now, but as explained by ignatz, for future reference the trick is to replace one side, then drive and see if the steering stays straight - if not, adjust the replaced one a little either side (no more than 1/4 turn at once), until the steering gets straight, then proceed with replaci...

Re: AC Problems

As suggested above, measure first the thermistor. I know it doesn't make logic to affect the vent direction, but that's what happens when this thermistor goes bad, the CCM gets confused and acts in many ways, with one side hot another cold, no air on some direction and so on. Look up on Yt on Pepper...

Re: "Over voltage" message 07 XC90 3.2 Help Needed

You should be able to replace the regulator alone but measure first the voltage with the engine running and a good battery. After firing up you should see some 14.5v for a few moments There seems to be two regulators, need to compare the numbers with yours https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-volt...
