My left hand side door latch stopped working from the remote key fob.
Following Robert Spinner's Youtube video I replaced the tiny thermal breaker in the latch servo motor.
Now the motor only spins one way - it locks the latch when unlock button is pressed and does nothing when lock button is ...

Re: PCV System Repair on a Volvo 5-cylinder
FWIW, the bolt which fastens the manifold to the block is easy to access if you remove the radiator fan shroud.
The fan shroud is held in with four screws at the top and a couple of tabs at the bottom which slot into the bottom of the radiator.
If I did it again, I would start by removing the fan ...

1997 V70 Are there any tyre experts here?
Some time ago I bought a set of almost new Pirelli P6000 tyres on eBay complete with rims from a car identical to mine, assuming the tyres would be identical too (the extra rims was so that I would have an extra set for winter tyres)
My original tyre size was 195/65/15 and the ebay tyres were 195 ...

Re: 2000 V70 XC Electronic Throttle Module Malfunction
I never understood the need to replace a simple, cheap and easy to maintain throttle cable with an expensive problem prone device such as an ETM.
Having said that, does anyone know if the later models have improved with respect to this "feature"?

Re: Drivers door power window switch repair
Sometimes the lacquer on the heater knobs and door switches breaks down with age and becomes "tacky".
The best way I found to clean the stuff is "Wynns brake and clutch cleaner".
I was told that the problem was caused by new environmentally friendly compounds used in the lacquer which do not age ...

Re: Dip stick has smoke coming out still
All you care is no excessive pressure, so...
- Cut a "finger" off the rubber gloves.
- Place it over dipstick housing with rubber band.
- Run engine, it should not inflate. If it inflates, then you have positive crankcase pressure.
The bottom line is: if you have overhauled your PCV and still have ...

Re: Dip stick has smoke coming out still
As I said earlier connect a 5/8" diameter pipe to the lower port that the PCV connects to and blow through it as this is the easiest way to work out if the oil return is indeed blocked, if it there are a few things you can try to clear it out before resorting to dropping the sump.
