Re: 1998 Volvo S70 GLT Overheating
So here is an update. I think I have finally figured it out. I'm 95% Sure that it's the Water pump going out. In the last day or so I had the windows rolled down and started the car up it was a quiet day and I heard a what sounds like metal scraping against something It would go away after about 40m...

Re: 1998 Volvo S70 GLT Overheating
So a quick update. It's not fixed. The Fan isn't coming on like its suppose too. It's coming on Randomly. Looks like I'm loosing Coolant. Its not going into the oil. The oil level has remained the same and I'm not smoking out the back. In the last week I've had to put in about 5Gallons of Fluid back...

Re: 1998 Volvo S70 GLT Overheating
So I recently changed out my Fan Relay from one I got from a Junk Yard. I haven't driven it much but I can say this... I haven't had any issues recently with starting and I have heard the Cooling fan come on a few times as it hits Temp. There again the problem wasn't always and it's been random the ...

Re: 1998 Volvo S70 GLT Overheating
Let me clarify some things. The overheating is after I've been in Heavy Seattle Traffic on 405 for hour +. The Fan does come on but when it's overheating I can tell that it's not coming on at all. I've seen it come on Randomly without the AC on. (working correctly) it does in fact sound like its on ...

Re: 1998 Volvo S70 GLT Overheating
The insulation over the terminals can crumble off and only one speed will work. If it high then the gauge will go up before fan runs. Thanks I'll look into this.... The starting problem sounds like fuel pressure loss when engine is off. Put a fuel gauge on the schraeder valve over by throttle cable...

1998 Volvo S70 GLT Overheating RESOLVED ECT
So over the weekend, I replaced the Thermostat with a Moto-Rad 192 Degree "failsafe". I replaced the Sensor with a Genuine Volvo Sensor I purchased from Volvo. The reason why I did this was because my Volvo was attempting to overheat and I was having some hard starting issues. Once the car...

1998 Volvo S70 GLT Versions?
I tried to google it but the responses that come up in the search engine don't have any thing specific. I was at the Junk Yard the other day looking for a part for my 1998 VOlvo S70 GLT and the vehicle they had there was in fact a 98 Volvo S70 GLT. It had Really nice Wood Trim Interior and a Informa...

Re: Need help-rough idle after MAF sensor cleaning
I don't know about 2000 but I just replacemed my MAF on my 98 Volvo GLT. I noticed 2 Small hoses running off the backside Air Tube about a Dime in Diameter. Each of them had popped off during the replacement and I noticed and Verified they where in fact put back on when Reinstallation of MAF. I'd su...

Re: Difficult to instal large black air hose into turbo
A 25 USD Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) is either used from a pick and pull or something other than a real MAF. It isnt something I have found to be diagnosable by a resistance measurement on either Volvo, VW, or BMW applications. They cost more like 150 USD for a Bosch new one. I personally just purch...
