Re: How-to: Replacing the Thermostat Housing on a Newer P2 Without Touching the Power Steering
If the engine thinks it is cold it will inject more fuel for cold running. This excess fuel can make it back to the cat and burn there instead of the engine, which cooks the cat. First off, it injects more fuel for cold STARTING, not so much for cold running, at least not for a significant period o...

HAHA. Not sure if you’re deliberately being obtuse or just don’t understand the point. A compression test requires numerous revolutions of the crank and numerous compression events in the cylinder to get an accurate result. Re: 2.5t timing belt broken need help with leakdown test
I wasn't asking for a specific car but want to know how the poster can do a compression test on an engine without working valves.

How do you do a compression test if the intake valve won't open to let air in?RickHaleParker wrote: ↑16 Apr 2019, 19:40 Take the cam cover off, closes all 20 valves and eliminates the interference so you do the leakdown and compression test.

Re: Need purchasing advice
If he isn't much into cars and has to pay others to service them, a 6-8 year old Asian car under 80,000 miles would be a better choice.
