Re: Will never buy another V70XC
Nope the tranfer case came from Volvo (reman) can't get them new. The same with the rear. I did hear a whine for the first day. Figured it was the new case and rear wearing in. It stopped after the second day. It's acting like it has a possi front diff, Is that a sign of the viscous coupling gone ba...

Re: Will never buy another V70XC
Considering I'm a ASE cert tech and have been working on cars since the age of 5. And professionally racing since the age of 14. I don't think so. I've never had a rear or motor or transfer case blow on me after 3 days of driving. VOLVOS ARE CRAP AND I BELIVE IT NOW. An I don't think it's possible t...

Re: How much power to add to LPT V70 AWD?
I am in the same boat as you 686sport. I have a 01 V70xc that i just did alot of trans work to and a new :D :D angle gear in anticipation of putting a HPT in. For the time being i tightened the wastegate up a couple turns to get a little more spunk out of the LPT. I personally am leaning towards the...

Re: Lower engine/transmission torque mount.
you may want to check the upper torque mount underneath the strut brace. If your bottom one is bad most likely your upper one is also. They keep the motor "in check" if you will underneath the hood. It should feel more solid under acceleration.

Re: Another issue seal leaking :/
There is no seal there. if fluid level is high enough, like when engine has been off for a while and torque converter drains back into sump, then fluid is high enough to come out there. The cup you put back in place may stop fluid from the bore inside splines but the axle gear the axle inserts into...

Re: Another issue seal leaking :/
So is it normal for fluid to come out of there after refilling it? What keeps the fluid from coming out there?

Its leaking from where the screw driver is sitting. in between the axle shaft and the transfer case spline sleeve.
