If you have a lot of fuses, just push the hazard light button and see if the fuse blows. The key does not have to be in the switch. Remember, the relay for the turn signals is part of the hazard switch.

Using very light pressure on the brake pedal should also create the 'clunk', not just hard braking. I would check the engine mounts for wear/play, especially the upper mount.

302 brakes require 16" or greater wheels due to caliper size. You are just fine with 16".

A leak in the intercooler hose will not allow pressure to build and therefore, no boost. I also would check for leaks in the 3 vacuum hoses to the turbo, as well as the airfilter to turbo feed.

The ECT sensor will not keep the engine from starting. An overheated fuel pump doesn't care if the relay is jumped, listen for the pump priming when you switch the key to posII.

There is just not enough data in your post to make an educated guess.

OEM head gasket only. If the Volvo seals are too expensive, then go with Reinz. If they fail in 100K miles, then replacing them is not a head removal option.

You cannot run the engine without the PS pump in place, there would be no tensioner. If you also removed the AC compressor, still no way to tension the belt.

If all you want is to run the engine for diagnostics, take off the belt and run just on battery power?

850 spring color marks

Does any one know what the color marks mean on the 850 rear springs? Mine are green, is that 'normal' or sport? They are definitely not 'soft'. When I replaced the completely dead rear shocks, the ride didn't change at all.

Clear the ECC codes before you do anything. I cannot envision all vent flap motors dying. I had an 850 where the owner tried to 'reset' the flap positions, 9-9-9 exercise, but failed. This caused the center stack flaps to get stuck in the closed position. I had to remove the dash to get it all worki...

Look closely at the bottom line, you will find that it is downhill to the sump. There should be very little ATF in the radiator with a cold engine. Once you start the engine, there will be close to a quart of ATF in the radiator and lines, I do not know how fast the ATF will flow back into the sump ...
