Along these lines, I have pictures that I have been meaning to share, but haven't had the time to include in various individual discussions. Below is a link that will take you to 99 thumbnails of photos I've taken while doing repairs on my 1993 Volvo 850 (US), non-turbo with 180,000 miles. http://we...

These look like temperature sensors; if they are, then the don't make a connection to anything. They have gotten jostled loose from holes in the sheet-metal that hold them in place.

I have at least one that I know of on my '93 850.

Wiper Fluid Reservoir Level Sensor Leads, 1993 850

Just wanted to report in after fixing this.

I had a problem with the 850 stalling under the Arizona heat (which this summer is running 6 degrees above normal, 110

I just completed changing the PCV system with the kit from FCP. The pictures in this link will show you how to do the knock sensor and while there, you can do the PCV which is visible in the pics. You don't need to disconnect the fuel lines at the rear of the engine as shown on page2. It took me ab...

:!: What MIJ said -- only more-so. In an older 850/s70, in the process of taking the intake manifold off you are likely to break the PCV hose. The PCV hose gets brittle with time and heat. Once the hose is broken the engine will not run right. I did not, nor would I ever, take the intake manifold of...

I currently have the interior panel off my front passenger-side door. I have the speaker out and I have fix up the outer windows track. Unfortunately, I have no plans to remove the metal plate and dig in any deeper. So, as I read your situation, a picture or three of what I have here will not help. ...

This does not completely match your description of your problem, but ... The only time I ever got blue smoke out my 850's tail pipe was after doing the PCV fix. It turned out to be a bad MAF sensor.

Just so you know you are not alone, I hardly ever put more than 12 gallons in my tank, because when I do, I smell gas for the next day and a half. Cannot say I have ever found a puddle of gas under the car though. After inspecting seals and tightening things down, try a can of undercoat from under t...

Interesting. I recently replaced most of the engine mounts, save the two hydraulic mounts. I have heard that the rear hydraulic hardly ever wears-out. Once you had it out did it look like it needed replacing? Did replacing it make a difference in road feel?
