Re: Door Lock Cylinder Not Responding Topic is solved

Found a Dorman #75450 part number at Advance it’s an assorted pack but should have one that would work in it.
Search for “door lock rod clips” on other sites.

Re: AW55-50SN woes-easy to repair? Topic is solved

As far as spraying the crud off the filter, you won’t need that long of a hose from the can. From the new hole the filter might only be a couple inches away from the hole but trying to spray it off might not be that effective due to the angle involved but it’s worth a try to see if the whining goes ...

Re: Door Lock Cylinder Not Responding Topic is solved

Most auto parts stores will know what you are looking for if you tell them. There are different types and the originals are just “grommet” style but the ones that have both the grommet for the cylinder end and a “wrap-around” arm that clips to the rod itself could probably work as well.

Re: Door Lock Cylinder Not Responding Topic is solved

My 2001 X/C70 was doing the same thing. Opened up the door panel and found the rod connecting the cylinder to the module was disconnected. You can find the clips in a parts store to retain the rod and pay attention to where the threaded rod is installed in the lower clips as you can reinstall it at ...

Re: Slight Intermitent Deceleration Just After Take Off

Check all of your turbo hoses. I had that same issue on my 2001 X/C70 and I had the hose come off from turbo housing (good luck accessing this one on the XC—it was a PITA with the transfer case in the way!)

If that link doesn’t work just search for “AW55 woes” and it comes up. It’s a very long discussion but will give you all the information you need to decide if this is appropriate for you.

Another successful AW55 "resurrection"

first off, many thanks to Precopster, Cuhfs, and Nautic for their great collaboration on devising a way to open up the transmission internal filter to cure pump starvation and restore normal transmission operation. My symptoms: I recently decided to do a trans drain & fill since this X/C 70 had not ...

Re: Vibration when accelerating

I have an X/C and the passenger axle outer boot was torn. Had vibration on acceleration as well. New axle: vibration gone. Inner joint was probably bad too. It's the long axle so any play would be more noticable.

O-ring for oil cooler pipe in oil pan

OK...so I'm replacing all of the O-rings in the oil pan on my XC70 and got the Victor-Reinz kit to do it. Great write-up on how to do it on this site BTW. BUT... I haven't got a definitive answer on all of the searching I've done but it seems that the o-ring that goes on the tube where the bolt is t...
