Greetings MVS users,
This spring I'm rebuilding the tired b5254t in my '98 v70 and I'm trying to pinpoint what parts and components I can use from newer models that may be improved since my motor was built at the factory.
I've spent all morning researching other's sagas and confusion of different ...

I experienced a great deal of success with my AW55-50sn rebuild project, new friction plates, seals, transfer gear bushing, proper selective shims, and Transgo VB kit... new ATF cooler and inline filter, new torque converter, new 3309 fluid, etc. all dial indicator ...

Thanks to all for your advice and replies. smart idea on that gasket instead of RTV. Since your last post, I understand better how to get good access to the VB cover but we started running out of daylight to work on the car.

thanks guys,
Completely agree with you on visual vs mechanical quality. you should NEVER judge a book by it's cover, as Volvo parts are sometimes capable of holding on without complaint, even in severe disrepair.
Anyone with a P2 care to share some photos of what the trans looks like once you ...

01 V70XC- what AW55 work can be done in a driveway?
Greetings,
I'm going to pick up a near-mint '01 v70xc in a few weeks that is still in driveable condition. Seems to have had the C1 Disengagement on Brake signal removed from the TCM but is still operating like a typical 120,000 mile volvo Aw55. Not sure yet on which specific issue is plaguing the ...

Re: 1998 v70 GLT replacing turbo- what else?
Install was a success- long and tedious process but patience went a long way- especially on one of those 17mm bolts from the top.....
swapped in reman'd 15g, took time and patience (again) to replace vacuum lines and coolant hoses. Cleaned EVERYTHING, reassembled, and...

1998 v70 GLT replacing turbo- what else?
Hey guys,
Been doing some mechanical restoration work on my trusty wagon, and next week I'll be replacing the turbo as the lines and seals are starting to weep oil and it's in need of some new gaskets and lines, I believe.
I've got my turbo, and the turbo replacement kit from ARD with the various ...

This is pretty cool. Can you provide links/details to this company so I can check it out? Mine is starting to do the same, coming up on 220k. Did you get the cold side housing and cartridge, or only the cartridge?

Re: Disable your daytime running lights DRL
I'm bringing up an old thread but after reading this i found that i have the tiny screw beside my headlight switch and low and behold i can turn the DRLs off easily. I've always been annoyed that when my headlights are turned to off, they actually weren't, and I'd like to humbly thank the engineers ...

Re: Is anyone runnung E-85?
I used to have a 93 Mitsubishi 3000gt and I wondered the same thing, so I played around with the stuff.
