Re: Gel seeping from fuel hose connection
Did you ever figure this out? When gas is exposed to the air and allowed to evaporate, it creates a "gum" (carburetors get gummed up, etc.) which is what I think is happening here.

Re: Fuel filter connection fittings
Great info there, thanks. Here's my two cents: Per FCP, the Volvo recommendation is to replace line rather than repair it. The part number for my '04 XC70 is 30683029 but at over $200 locally, it seems overly expensive. The fuel line itself is nylon with OD is 5/16", 7.89mm, but it's covered wi...

Re: Fuel filter connection fittings
Yes, I did a search before posting. Here's what either I missed or nobody posted after posting their problems: 1. Where did they get replacement connector? 2. What is correct name/size for connector? 3. What is Volvo part numbers for replacement lines? My "best" info so far is that the cor...

Fuel filter connection fittings
Bust one of these connectors today when changing my fuel filter. It was really stuck on there and just wouldn't let go. I managed to put it back together and hold it in place with zip ties. It's not a pretty job but, so far, no leaks or stalling. So, I'm guessing the easy repair is to buy a fuel lin...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
... My question here is: could this leak be related to the failure to start that began this thread? Or are they just coincidental? The leak is recent so I don’t think it’s a direct cause. Could failed starts and the leak be related to some underlying issue? The pump will be replaced soon regardless...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
...Can the fuel pickup/impeller/(not a siphon) be serviced? Blocked by "stones" that presumably precipitate from contaminants in the tank? In my case, thhe pump itself appeared to be fine but the fuel pickup/impeller appeared to have failed. I can't say of this was caused by wear or conta...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
I also think I read that the PEM was introduced to the XC70 sometime during the 2004 model year. Maybe my 2004 XC70 is pre-PEM? Would a VIN lookup provide that info? How about a scan tool? Hubspot partner agency Mehendi designs I believe this is correct. Some 2004 models do not have PEM while some ...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
We had a user on the XC90 forum thst had his fuel pump replaced at a dealer, and they kinked the crossover line on install. After several months of SWMBO getting tired of a car that would pseudo random;y die 15 minutes from home on the 5 Freeway, he finally tracked it down. I can see that happen qu...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
I had a fuel pump issue which only happened when the tank was 1/4 or 3/8 full. It turned out that it was the fuel pickup assembly that was faulty. Replacing the whole fuel pump and fuel pickup assembly resolved the problem. Like OP my 2004 has no sensor on the fuel rack and not module on/near the f...
