Re: P80 turbo coolant hoses 30713305 9471700

PN 31439471 appears to supersede 30713305.

That stubby little hose piece seems to be used on a lot of turbo Volvos over a lot of years. It is the right one for both my '96 850 and also my '14 XC70.

Re: conflicting spark plug gap sizes

Just save yourself the headache and use genuine Volvo spark plugs. They aren't that much more expensive and are readily available from IPD and FCP Bosch plug quality has gone down the crapper in recent years. I've had a few which come right out of the box with the insulator actually loose in the met...

Only recommendation I have here, and it's a strongly held one, is to only use genuine Volvo spark plugs.

Re: Good Quality Tap and Die set

The old harbor freight set is just too crappy for what I need taps for lately. I don't like digging thru the drawer to find the better quality ones though. I am also impatient. If I want to thread a 1/4" aluminum rod - want to do it now - not a week from now because I have to order what I need...

Re: Good Quality Tap and Die set

I've been getting by on a set I paid less than $10 for over 20 years ago It works but not well. I'm tired of dealing with it. ... I'm looking for the value. ... My $10 set sat on the shelf for nearly 5 years completely unused, ... Here's a radical thought: instead of springing for a "set"...

Re: Good Quality Tap and Die set

I’ve heard irwin is decent I heard that too at one time, so I bought Irwin set 26317 . I have not been disappointed. I've had it for several years, and although I have only used it occasionally, it has never let me down. Irwin offers a range of tap & die sets (in metric, inch or combination of ...

Re: Driver CV Axle Problems

Driver's axle bearing? Are you certain it was replaced with the transmission rebuild? Of the many parts that I replaced in my recent transmission rebuild, some actually needed replacing while others would have been fine to re-use. The left-side axle bearing was one of the ones that definitely needed...

Re: 850 Engine Skid plate Steel

Well, this one is more common. It covers the whole underside of the engine and transaxle. It's pretty common for it to be missing on our old 850s these days. I know it's rare to find one in the junkyard. IPD claims it fits both 2WD and AWD. In fact, I had ordered one of these from FCP to replace the...
