I have checked all the micro switches with a meter , they seem to be ok, I did the P to L 15-20 times bit with no results. All indications point to the shift lock solenoid , although I still have not ruled out the steering and brake pedal portion of the problem. Anyone have a good place to buy used ...

Q1: Could be the PNP switch playing up. Try moving the shift lever from P to L 15 - 20 times quickly. This can clean up the copper contacts inside the switch.

Q2: Have you got shims in? I usually give the backs of the pads a good coating of copper grease. It has worked on every Volvo I have owned ...
