Went by the shop yesterday to pick up the ETM to send back. He has the entire front side of the motor removed to get to the ports for the PCV. Says the lower port into the oil pan is clogged and they have to remove the oil pan to clean it out....this is gonna be expensive!

Yeah, the emblem on the trunk lid says 2.9 but I thought it was interesting VIDA would say 3.0

Ahhh, okay. I have no idea if BBA Reman did this or not. I have a lifetime warranty on the ETM now that they worked on it so maybe I can give them a call and see if they will do this, or if they already did it (maybe you get what you pay for). Is the short in the armature of the ETM still possible after being rebuilt with the contactless TPS?

The mechanic put the ETM in and says it runs and idles great but it still blows the fuse for the ETM when revving or randomly. He says he has checked the wiring diagram and the wiring itself and there is nothing else on that circuit but the ETM so he thinks there is still some sort of fault in the E...

precopster...you were right! They just did the same repair as other shops apparently. I don't really care as long as it works and at least it was almost half the price of XeModex

Yeah maybe it is something else but mine did the same thing. When the knob was working, speeds would vary, although not the full range of speeds. Before the knob totally stopped working only the top two speeds would work.
