1998 v40 t4 Fuel Injector questions

Hello all you fine Volvo Afficionados. After quite the sparepart extravaganza on my 1998 V40 T4, im left with a issue regarding the Fuel Injectors and FPR. First things first. How does one determine the right Fuel Injector?? Meaning that I have searched the original Siemens (the grey top ones) for m...

Re: 1998 v40 t4 Loss of power, then total stall .

Update: Got the walbro fuelpump (should have checked up better before buying), and the FPR. Took out older (still brand new) fuelpump, and load and behold, the tubing + pump was totally dead. The tube had split lenghtwise all the way :-[ Didnt check this first, as the pump was brand new. Got the Wal...

Re: 2004 S40 1.9T Difficulty starting. Broken Fuel Pump?

Hello there. Check the fuelpump (a guide can be found here) , if it fails, it has similar symptoms. Otherwise check your Fuel Regulator .

Re: 1998 v40 t4 Loss of power, then total stall .

:-] Just ordered the walbro pump upgrade, and a brand new fuel pressure regulator (what a pricetag for this little fellow)
Hopefully this will make my Volvo drivable once again. As of now, its a quite expensive peace of metal, just standing there.

Re: 1998 v40 t4 Loss of power, then total stall .

Once again, thanx for replying :-] Think i forgot to mention, that upon inspection, the HT cable for cylinder 1, wasent touching the spark plug. So it might have been running without a spark on cylinder one (for god knows how long). Couldnt this put a lotta unburnt gasoline through the cat, and even...

Re: 1998 v40 t4 Loss of power, then total stall .

Could a failing / meltet cat, cause the engine, to eventually drown in its own gases?? I mean, if the cat is totally melted down, the system wouldnt be able to breathe properly (getting the exhaust gases out of the way) , and cause the total stall on my engine ??

Thanx a million for your reply. Makes sense, that a failing O2sensor would "drown" the engine, thus putting too much fuel into chambers, and giving med the smell of unburnt gases.
Is there any way to check if cat is failing??
