Very interesting topic, I recently had my fuel filter changed and spark plugs replaced on my 2000 S70 and now the car starts hard after sitting for say half an hour. If you start the car right back up after shutting down the car starts fine and always runs fine. I must have a fuel leak?

I will start with the fuel filter. The car has been to the dealer recently for the software upgrade on the ETM. The car still has the original, I believe as it has a white mark on it. I am assuming that if their were other software upgrades necessary they would have completed them.

The car has a slight hesitation or chugging at low RPMs when either sitting in Park and quickly increasing the throttle or taking off in a hill. If the throttle is increased slowly when in park the car responds fine. Their is no CEL.

Where should I start troubleshooting?

Car has now been dealer repaired. S2 solenoid was changed and all is well with the car. I will now list the car for $ 3200 or best offer.

The car makes a sound at speeds above forty miles and hour that sounds like wind blowing through the car. Drop below 40 and it stops. I have toggled the air recirculation button on and off, this seems to have no effect.

I have decided that it might be best for me to abort the mission and take the car to a shop that specializes in this sort of work. I will put it back together tonight.

I have a 2000 S70 with 80,000 miles and it was doing the exact same thing. I cleaned the throttle body and it runs fine now.

Thanks for the response. I have all of the screws started off the pan except the lower right corner when looking at it from the front of the car. I have an allen type wrench that is a 40 torx and this seems to work but its only three inchs long and I cannot start the screw. I cannot put a cheater on...

I am trying to replace the S2 shift solenoid in my 97 850 and I cant get the lower right torx screw out of the pan. I am trying to access it through the drivers side wheel well. The clearance between the screw and the frame is very minimal. Anyone with any ideas? Any particular tool?
