I am taking it to my mechanic tomorrow.

I didn't see any other signs of an alternator problem. No flickering lights, car started fine etc

are there any signs (besides the message) that the alternator or regulator may be going bad?

also the message appears momentarily and then goes away, if it's a problem with the alternator or battery wouldn't the message remain on?

also every time the "over voltage" message appears that rear drivers side door tweeter buzzes.
