Looking to buy this S80 in town with a t6 and 150k on the od... the car pukes a milkey brown from a supposed blown oil cooler. Wants 2000. Needs new tires and some tlc plus the problem listed..

How hard is it to change the oil cooler on this car? It has for sure seen better days and just spilling ...

See I was assuming dirty or bad idle air control motor but with popping in the cat makes me wonder. Hopefully I read this right just skimmed a but but did you reset the computer after engine swap? (consists of removing battery and holding foot on the brake for half a minute)

From my experience from a cold start smoke is leaky valve steam seals in the engine. When idling and then requesting more engine power and blowing smoke is a blocked pcv.

If you plan on keeping the car for a while look more into diagnosing and having the pcv repaired. It can't hurt and is ...

Sounds like a bad tps. Cheapest repair at this point. Sounds like the initial revving by the tps is causing the Iac to get hot because it wants to idle high my guess.
