I'll try that out first, if the fluid change doesnt work, I'm still in the same situation im prepared to be in. The sound does go away when i shift to neutral, and it also goes away when i back off the gas pedal to about one inch of pressure, sound like a differential symptom?

hmm the rubber is definitely ripped off of half the bearing, and could the wire be the spring thats part of the bearing? its definitely about that size and looks like it was coiled like a spring previously. Rough drive shaft would give less power to the wheels correct? Car didnt seem like it wanted ...

oops it was dark out last night when i was checking the driveshaft. what I thought was the front u joint was where the driveshaft meets the center bearing. The driveshaft moves up and down by hand in the center bearing and there is some frayed/bundled up wire of some sort in there as well

yes thanks very much for the troubleshooting. It seems that the front u joint is definitely not holding the drive shaft securely, and forgive me for not being mechanically inclined, but whatever the front u joint connects to seems to have some sort of frayed wire
