is it possible to check for fuel at the fuel rail valve by taking off the cap and inserting a small screwdriver.should you get a constant spray of fuel or just one burst

after having a misfire i changed plugs,dist cap,rotor arm and ignition leads. the car would not start!i checked fuel pump,relay and spark at plugs(the spark was a bright yellowey/white colour.is this right?) i removed the fuel pump fuse turned her over,replaced the fuse and tried again but no joy. s...
