I am having the same issue with our 2001 v70xc. Coolant dripping from the oil filter cover as well as running down along the front of the oil pan. I also switched the relay and verified it works. I switched it with the wiper sprayer relay and it checked out as working there.

I have a 2001 v70xc that I have done a ton of work on. My latest issue is the A/C. The clutch will not engage under normal circumstances. I replaced the CCM with a used one off ebay. Most everything works on the CCM - fan, auto setting, A/C switch turns on and off with green on/amber off. Not workin...

So what ever happened with this? Did you resolve the smoke issue? How about the leak issue? Were they related or completely separate issues? Just wondering because I have both issues as well. Let us know what your final results were. Thanks!!
