I replaced the heater core in my 98 V70 a year ago with a German made unit I bought from Ebay. It no longer smells like anti freeze but worse - more like some chemical perhaps sprayed on the heater core during manufacture to protect the unit from corrosion. I can't describe the smell but its horrib...
