98 S70 no heat from passenger vents
My 98 S70 non-turbo has been giving me a problem for about a year now, I just haven't looked into it until now. I only notice the problem during the winter. The passenger side dash vents will not give out any heat. The driver's side seems just fine. The only way to get heat through those vents is by...

98 S70 trouble codes/engine cooling
My 98 S70 non-turbo has 204,000 miles on it. My CEL came on and I read the codes, and I got P0116 for engine coolant temp. The symptoms are the same as an issue I had four years ago - the CEL came on, the engine wouldn't get up to temp, no heat from the vents, and hard starting on really cold mornin...

Re: 98 S70 - check engine light/ spark plugs
The OEM spark plugs I installed are gapless, so gapping isn't an issue with this. I haven't had the codes reset since installing the new plugs, so maybe I'll have them reset and see if they come back on after that. Thank you!

98 S70 - check engine light/ spark plugs
My 98 S70 non-turbo (194,000 miles) has been setting off the check engine light lately. A few weeks ago I wrote on the forum about a stalling problem. I found the source of that problem: the fuel pump was going out. But through all that trouble, I never had a CEL. The CEL came on a day after I did a...

Re: 98 S70 - problem with MAF sensor?
Update: last night, I did a tune up and replaced spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and filters. I also replaced the MAF sensor with a new one. So far, I haven't had any stalling (even though it's pretty warm out right now), but now my check engine light HAS come on. So I'll have to have the codes r...

Re: Airbox thermostat failure...
I also am dealing with the airbox thermostat, on my 98 S70 non-turbo, which apparently is different than the system on the 850's. I'd like to know how it works - there is a black thin hose that runs from the top of the airbox down to where the airbox thermostat would be. Does anyone know anything ab...

Re: 98 S70 - problem with MAF sensor?
Thanks for all the advice. In response to the post from misha, my check engine light has never come on through having this problem. Another question - when cleaning the MAF, do I actually remove the sensor from the cylindrical tube body, or do I get it by putting the cleaner straw in from one of the...

98 S70 - problem with MAF sensor?
I have a 98 S70 (non-turbo) with 193,000 miles on it. I've been reading a lot on the posts here about MAF sensor failure; I've been having issues with my car that have reappeared since last summer, I posted a topic back in September, here's a link to it, and it outlines all the problems I'm having. ...

Re: Trouble tightening down the control arms...
Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. All along it didn't make any sense why the strut wouldn't go up any further. I'll definitely try that.

Trouble tightening down the control arms...
I'm working on my 98 S70 and I'm trying to tighten down the control arms. I took MadeInJapan's advice about lowering the car on two jacks. The side where I have the jack under the control arm won't go down entirely, I guess that strut spring is giving too much pressure. I tried using two smaller jac...
