I just changed the oil and didn't notice any issue with that drain valve inside the housing but will pay closer attention next time now that i know those can fail. At 12 yrs old and 166k, it still runs good and very little to no oil consumption. This is great info, thanks

I think I'm somewhere between 8 1/4 and 8 1/2 now and level is just about full. Sometimes the level will show higher on one side of the dipstick than on the other which is another oddity. I usually let the engine cool at least 10 min before checking level.

Finally got around to finding a VD solenoid (sold on eBay as control valve) and replacing it which did the trick!! They run about a hundred bucks but found a Chinese one w/1 yr warranty for half that and the fit was perfect and the a/c works good now. Job took half an hour. Thanks Jimmy57.

PCV was checked and looked clear (trap box and holes) when I did the head gasket job a couple months back. Also removed and clean up all the valves with grinding compound. LongFT1 (%) reads 0.0. Is this not normal?

would this also be causing the nasty exhaust fumes smell the car puts out when running? Perhaps its over compensating because the fumes are undoubtedly unburned gases and the smell stays with car hours after its parked in the garage. Cant imagine a bad catalytic converter after only 121k miles

No vacuum leaks as far as I can tell but will do the starter fluid spray test around the intake areas while engine running (see if engine surges) to be sure. Fuel pressure test checked out @ 55 psi running and 48 psi after half an hour of sitting so all good there. At 950 rpm, MAF signal reads 22.86...

Update: We'll I finally received a used replacement ('04 S60) abs pump and module with matching #'s from ebay for $51.00 shipped, installed only the pump up to my existing module, bled all 4 wheels and bingo! All works normal now as it should!! I have a back up module now just in case the other ever...

Hi all, I replaced the booster and mc but forgot to note which connector goes where on the two solenoid things on bottom of master cylinder! The wires are color coded so there must be a front and back. Connected as is I have no warning lights so assume I guessed right? Thanks for any feedback on this.

Someone suggested that by fixing a leak, the extra pressure can easily finish off an old booster. My thought is an '07 is not that old.
