don't think so. The screws go in the lower dash afaik.
This summer I removed the upper dash in order to find what causes the noises, but couldn't really find anything. Made sure everything was tightend up.
Think the dash deforms over time...

I think the only thing that would really help is to ...

I'm no expert, but from what I hear the XC70 and most 1998-2000 AWD models have expensive problems and premature wear. It will gradually cost you more in the long-run, and I would assume that the differential will need replacing again in another 40k miles. I'm not sure what the differential lifetime ...

Sounds like a grounding wire, and there is one under the battery tray that bolts to the car's frame. Is it the same thickness as the battery wire and does it have the same hard plastic cover? If so, it probably is.

I removed the deflector four months ago, and there hasn't been a noticeable difference. There may be some change in performance, but nothing I can pick up. As for rain, I haven't had any problems with water getting in...I believe the deflector was meant to deflect rain and debris.

I would be extremely interested in this car, if only I could get rid of my '98 S70.

I have the same problem, but on the upholstery seats. The tear is on one of the seams on the top part of the seat that your back rests on. It's around 4 inches wide. I also have no idea on what to do.

Yeah, I pay $55 to fill my tank on premium 93 Octane, and I also only get around 16-17mpg. I have my tires inflated properly, never hit the gas too much, use cruise control, and drive highway quite a lot. My spark plugs are quite new, the wires are fine, the rotor is fine, and the car's exhaust ...

They certainly get very hot in my '98 S70, and yes, they also switch on and off. If they don't, I assume you can see smoke... :)

Thats what I love about Volvo's. They've had all these options that newer cars have only just begun to offer. I mean, heated mirrors?

If your mileage has gone to pot and you have pretty high mileage on your car (over 100K miles) then I would say it's probably time to change out your front 02 sensor. About the hood rattling. I had this too...it wasn't the latch. It seems that the rubber bits that buffer the hood wear down after ...

There is a cold air pump which is supposed to operate when you start your car. The pump turns off after a minute or two. It sounds like your air pump is not working, allowing a very rich condition to heat up the cat and exhaust rapidly.

As for the 3 second noise when you hit a bump? Still too many ...
