Re: 1999 V70 XC slow fueling. EVAP problem??

Clogged charcoal filter to blame. Dont know how to get it out to change. It is located directly behind the fuel filter at rear of car. Awkward spot. Has anyone changed one of these charcoal canisters?

Re: Evap System "Theory of Operation" and a few questions

Well i detached the pipe from the ORVR valve to the canister. Lo and behold a flood of gasoline fumes! The filter must have been clogged. Depressingly, the canister is located in the least accessable spot imaginable. Behind the fuel filter right up against the floor of the trunk. FML. Has anyone cha...

Re: Evap System "Theory of Operation" and a few questions

. The car has been a PITA to fuel for a while now. Pump always clicks off after a liter or so. I removed the canister vent valve this aft replaced it with a nylon elbow. The lead attached to the cvv showd 10 volts. The cvv was quite obviously in the closed position. I pulled the manifold side hose o...

Re: Evap System "Theory of Operation" and a few questions

Very useful post!! Would it be possible for me to bypass the canister vent shut off valve? i think it is stuck in the closed position, and preventing the purge valve from doing its job. I dont really care if it can't do its diagnostic test.

Re: 1996 850R Cranks starts then dies

I had this problem. thought it was all sorts of immobilizers and electrical things. Mechanic put it on a lift and found the plastic air intake had rotted and fallen off back of engine at turbo, bypassing MAF and screwing up computer. Start with the simple things I guess. This was on a 99 v70 xc.

1999 V70 XC slow fueling. EVAP problem??

Hi everyone. My car has been slow to take fuel for a while. Usually I have to add fuel at the very slowest pump setting. Sometimes it can take 15-20 seconds to per l of fuel. Rarely it will take 25 l or so but then will fill the pipe and trigger the auto pump shutoff. It is also slow to take fuel fr...

Re: 1999 V70 xc fuel leak from top of tank

Managed to fix it. A rotten fuel line from driver side pump over the top of the tank was the problem. Seems like a lot of road dirt & such gathered on the top of the tank causing the line to rust. Cut a hole in the floor just to the left of the indicated area & riveted it shut.

1999 V70 xc fuel leak from top of tank

Hi, I have a V70xc with 381000 km's on it. A few months ago I began to smell a slight fuel leak. Because I could not locate any drips decided to keep an eye on it. Yesterday, I noticed the leak had become significantly worse. The fuel runs down the side of the tank just in front of the drivers side ...
