Torx screws to remove door latch wont budge

On my great-running 1998 S70 the driver-side passenger door won’t close completely because the metal latch in the door won’t open so that it can be caught by the metal bar attached to the door’s frame (I hope that makes sense.) Unfortunately the button that goes up and down when the door is unlocked...

Re: Can someone identify what this switch is?

Thanks to all who enlightened me about that switch. I’d actually checked the front end of the car with the button on and off and didn’t see a difference — no wonder, it controls the rear fog light! One other thing: there’s a snowflake symbol to the right of the odometer. Once in a blue moon a yellow...

Can someone identify what this switch is?

1998 Volvo S70 non-turbo
To the left of the steering wheel is a rocker switch which has a white symbol resembling a right-facing headlight with three small horizontal lines with a wavy vertical line going through them.

Can someone tell me what that switch is for?

Thanks in advance.

LOL That's EXACTLY what I have to do to get my 1998 S70's hood to pop the release!

Re: How To Fix Back Of Center Arm Rest

I have about the exact same problem as described in the OP with the center console of my '98 S70. The hinge at the back or the lid disconnected completely from the (as correctly described) flimsy plastic lower part of the console. What I've been reduced to doing for some time is just picking the ent...

Re: S70 troubles -- Please help me STAY a Volvo owner!

UPDATE: I had some things replaced on the car and now the CHECK ENGINE light is finally off. I just picked the car up from the shop yesterday and have only driven it a few miles but will start driving it to and from work soon. I was advised to put some mileage on the car to reset the computer before...

Re: S70 troubles -- Please help me STAY a Volvo owner!

The latest regarding the saga of my S70: I replaced the ABS module with one from Midwest ABS and picked the car up from my mechanic (AAA certified) today. I was very pleased to see that, while the ABS light was still on (even though the module had been replaced) the Check Engine light was NOT. (Repl...
