Replace 97 850 SW headlight lens
My local dealer today said my car won't pass inspection if I don't get a new headlight lens (a rock put a pellet sized hole in -- light still works fine). Then he said it would cost $520! Are they nuts? It's just a piece of glass! Okay, so am I being unreasonable thinking we can do this for a bit le...

Successful Trunk Lift Surgery
I got replacement lifts for my 850 Wagon for $50 (w s/h) from www.vlvworld.com
My neighbor installed them yesterday evening in about 30 minutes. So much for the $290 my local repair shop wanted!
This is definitely doable.

Interior/Dash Light Bulb Replacement 850SW
Matthew solved my first problem. THANKS!
Now for the 2nd one.
On my 97 850 SW, the light for my shifter and illumination for my clock are out. I checked the fuses, no soap. I'm guessing I have to replace the bulb(s) -- any advice on how to do that?
Thanks! GrowinKids

installing trunk lifts
I'm interested in the same issue but with my 1997 850 wagon. The cold has sapped the little bit of staying power my lifts had left. Is it worth replacing them? My local Volvo repair shop quoted "around $300". Is that reasonable? Ideas?
Thanks, GrowinKids
