No IAC. It has an ETM! Scan it with VIDA (if you can)! It will give you far more information than a generic code reader. The fan will run after shutdown if it is really hot out. I'd re-seat the ECM, maybe a contact isn't contacting. Also check all of your coil pack wiring on top of the engine.

Fuel pump? CCM fan? ECU fan?

Clutch adjustment is in the pressureplate. Not mater cylinder. Did the shop lube the input shaft of the transmission properly? That can cause engagement issues. The M66 cars have that issue. Not 100% about the M56 cars.

There was a software update to remove the feature. A dealer will be able to tell if it was done. The ATF change thing came from a lot of transmissions being toasted after a powerflush. Drain and fill only.

They all have issues eventually. Especially the T5 and AWD cars. It's not 'some' it's all. The early AW55 cars eat themselves (literally) when stopped in drive. Scan it with VIDA. Sounds like a CEM failure.

Spend the $100 on VIDA it'll do everything. Especially since you have a haldex XC. It will make life easier.

Exhaust valves might be ok. It's intake valves that kiss the piston. FCPEuro is where I go for these sorts of things. It takes a few hours to pull the head and a maybe a day to get it all back together. I had the same thing happen to a 98XC with a 30k mile reman head and 30k mile 2 year old tbelt......

If it's a AW55 car you're probably in for a transmission soon... There's a reason they're ultra cheap.
