Re: Radiator replacement

Just wanted to help de-mystify changing the radiator. I just did it and it is simple -and I'm no pro just a backyarder. I took it out thru the top and never jacked car. About 3 hrs. To get it out. Couple hours fussing with them while out (inside shop listening to radio) then a couple more to button ...

Want to buy ETM for 2001 XC70

Hello can anyone sell me a working ETM 36050563 preferably manufactured after 2013 for my 2001 XC70?
I'm in New Orleans 70122 and can pay via zelle or venmo. Looking at one on ebay for about 100. Maybe you can pop it in a USPS priority box? I'd like to get at this week end. Thanks

Erratic ETM apparently connected to loss of brake assist

Quick backstory: 2001 XC70 190K miles, I cleaned the ETM three years ago and the idle has been steady ever since. I started noticing a surging a few months ago when in Drive but at a stop with foot on brake, like she wanted to go. Eventually it would start but run very rough, coughing and misfire- a...

Can I just bolt new Bosch OEM TPS onto ETM?

I have a 2001 XC70 with 190K and the yellow sticker ETM is shot. I bought the car at 130K and suspect the original owner got the yellow sticker through the recall. I have the OEM Bosch TPS (0280122001 ) which is just two bolts and a plug. This is just a bolt off, bolt on solution with an electric pl...

Re: PVC/PTC/Oil leak - Volvo nosedive drama

to follow up, seafoaming is worth doing but no effect on this (obviously). The pressure was approx cut in half after I overhauled the PVC and PTC. Still positive tho. The cam seal is where it is leaking - I'm bringing it in to an indie mechanic today for that job. I dont want to touch that- darn com...

Re: PVC/PTC/Oil leak - Volvo nosedive drama

Replaced MAP sensor - no decrease in blue glove test pressure. Tried running with dipstick removed to vent engine- slight decrease in blue glove "erection" but just slight. Still leaking. Am seafoaming now.

Stay tuned

Re: PVC/PTC/Oil leak - Volvo nosedive drama

Ok so that 45 degree thingo is the MAP sensor. My connector (the part showing yellow wire) is just hanging in the air because on my pipe I just have a hole the size of a dime venting to air. Tomorrow I'll get the adapting part that joins the "yellow connector" to the pipe. In the meanwhile...

Re: PVC/PTC/Oil leak - Volvo nosedive drama

Here is a photo of the part I'm missing on another engine. It's the connector at a 45 degree angle with the yellow wire showing. Anyone know what this is? Curious if this part is totally dissconnected - would it cause positive pressure?

Jonesg,

It was a lot of work, my hands are coated in Bag Balm salve and are humming like tuning forks!

I have not yet tackled cam seals because I am hoping if I can kill the positive pressure the leak may abate.
