Does no one know about this? I have found bunch of info that conflicts with itself and without taking the car apart, I haven't been able to find it myself.

It is possible to buy keys that have no chip in them. That's what I did with my last car.

I sucessfully (and carefully) cut the chip out of the key for my 1999 v70 and duct taped it inside the steering column near the antenna that detects the chip. After that any key cut will work. I have been all over the web and can't find definitive info on the reverse switch for the 2001 v70xc. It seems that there is a lot of info for 2000 and earlier. Is the reverse switch part of the PNP? or is it separate? Anyone know?
