Ok ...ty ...I actually found the procedure in that video link I posted here and followed that. Although a true Gibbons method would flush better but tis method worked for me.

No nothing foreign....just the education that you want to make sure and exchange all the fluid to make sure all of it is new fresh fluid. The car has 82000 miles on it at this point. How could I achieve getting all the fluid replaced? Drain and refill twice?

Has anyone else here used the gibbons method for replacing trans fluid on a 2012xc Volvo? I have done it on my 1998 v70 and want to know if there are any new issues for the later Volvo's using this method. Thanks, RH

In fact I discovered a cooling system leak on my upper radiator hose with it. Take note on that ....on my 2012 XC70, I bought a replacement hose before removing t...

Jimmy ...one other question regarding that kit, since it has lots of adapters ...couldn't you just connect to the expansion tank to accomplish the task?

Thanks Jimmy ...yeah what a pain but I know you know what you are doing. I tried to find one of these kits at the big box stores for rent or loan ...but they do not have them. It seems nobody takes your advice and uses them. I really appreciate your help on this. Richard
