Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!

I finally managed to fit the right Banjo bolt for the Pcv system, so this is done for all!

Checked the timing belt to see if there was any leaks behind the cams.
To my surprise there is grease on the belt.

Wait! :o it's not oil it's grease!

The bearing of the tensioner is leaking.

Re: doing a PCV replacement

I removed the throttle unit to have room for the Banjo bolt. It is so close to the alternator too that it's hard to fit a short 17mm wrench. I already did this twice to clean the throttle and it's not a difficult task to reassemble the unit with the gasket, a long 10mm socket needed. The throttle in...

Re: doing a PCV replacement

That is very me when i don't wear my glasses at work. I ordered both and mistaken the Banjo bolts, i realized i've mounted the old version without the check valve! At least i can do that again with a o-ring in place (abscate tips) to make it easier. So not to add confusion, PN/31325709 is the new Ba...

Re: doing a PCV replacement

Done with a clogged PCV! That Banjo bolt was a real pain to get started. I just did not mounted the Throttle unit onto the manifold to have room to start and for a spanner. The manifold bolt near the thermostat housing is quite tuff too! I did also used the trick with PN/30731007 it worked great! St...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!

There’s an improved one that doesn’t cough out the pin and ruin your engine. I’ll try to find the thread with all the part numbers to confirm. I will put notes on this thread once i'll start the PCV job. I see that FCP have all the kit needed. https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!

Antoine, make sure you read the threads on the banjo bolt ..the right one to buy ...installation tips. It can be really tough. Thanks i'll do. I did the PCV on the P1 V70 5 years ago following the threads on this forum, but it looks easier than the P2. Is the new Banjo bolt PN/ 31325709 correct? Wi...
