The tool bolts to the head in such a way that it supporrts the cams, there is a plate to "carry " the front cam snouts. That way, the cams rise straight up with the cover. Look at the picyures in the ads for the tool on amazon or ebay.

Re: 96 Volvo 850T5 turbo actuator question?
due to the magnitude of disparity in the break pressure, I would do further research before running that set-up. The Kinugawa is a knock-off, not a "replacement" for the Mitsubishi/Volvo part. I would consult with a reputable turbo rebuilder/tuner like Robert's buddy "Turbo Tony" Since you have work...

Use FCP Euro, IPD, or EEuroparts at least for reference. Volvopartsonline even better. Don't trust "generic" like big box auto.

I like the take the LRU in the house overnight, that may determine whether the problem is in the box, or the circuit. Or pay a crew chief to bring you a heater!!

Re: Tips on removing the head on a -99 v70 2.5t
So the idea is, set the timing to the marks, Install the lock tools on the rear of the cams, this will secure them to the upper cover. then undo the belt(s), remove the cam cover and cams together, perform required work. With the cams locked in the cover, you can do the VVT hubs Re-install cam cover...

Re: Transmission going out.
Dutch, you have the 5 speed auto, correct? If so, the 98s are useless to you. you will be limited mostly to 99 and 2000 models, perhaps up to 04.

Any interest for one of these? Trans had approx. 130k normal slipping third gear, was replaced, car was traded in couple years ago. Repairable/rebuildable core available if anyone is still doing these old things.

10 XC60 EPB reset at brake replacement
I know this topic is covered in some different threads here, but just wanted to share experience. My Son and Daughter in law were quoted 400 LABOR ONLY to replace the only the rear brakes by local, trustworthy (Fair ) indie. That was just labor, they already had pads and rotors on hand. Don't have V...

Re: Blemished ABS modules, 99-2000 $40
Just curious,(and I realize now, too lazy to search for myself)! are the REALLY late P80s (01-04 C70s carryover of the 2000, or did they continue to progress?

Your Volvo frame is made of strong, durable, (Heavy) Swedish Steel. That's why they survive so well.
