Re: rough idle and acceleration in colder weather

update on this one, turns out my electronic throttle body was toast too. Looks like multiple issues. The new fuel filter and fuel line likely were not the main cause of my rough idle. I replaced the ETB with one from FCP euro, not the official Volvo replacement but I think the Bosch model. Works ...

Re: s60 2005 t5 wiring harness throttle body

I purchased a new set of wires for the ETM from FCP euro. The colors are different but I have that figured out. Before I get too deep into the computer I'm trying to figure out where the #5 Brown wire connects in the computer. I have a very nice wiring diagram which says it connects to 31/91 ground ...

Re: s60 2005 t5 wiring harness throttle body

oh man I have the same issue. Just noticed two of the wires are backing their way out of the ETM connector. I also broke the locking feature after removing the darn ETM about 5 times over the years for various repairs. The connector gets brittle over time. I tried pushing the wires back in but the ...

Re: Programming required after installing an ETM for a 2006 S60 turbo?

Thanks for those insights into the Rock Auto vs FCP Euro. I cleaned my throttle body multiple times over the years, as recently as six months ago. never opened up the gear set though. Maybe I'll try that, but I'm also thinking to dive more into the wiring/voltage/ground etc. I checked grounds and ...

Re: Programming required after installing an ETM for a 2006 S60 turbo?

I found two Bosch units one on Rock Auto = BOSCH 0280750131, the other on FCPEuro = Bosch 30711554. The Rock Auto one is about $80 cheaper. As I write this I'm leaning towards the FCPEuro but just wondering if anyone has experience with either of these.

Also, in reading load of info about the Volvo ...

Re: P2 Can someone tell me what this part is? 31400692

I see now. oh man I'm like a mad scientist out there. totally messing things up but learning a lot in the process. While trying to take the brake booster vacuum switch out I broke the top off and it 'flew apart'...lol. now I see how it all works. Ordered a new one from FCP Euro. Don't feed voltage ...

Re: P2 Can someone tell me what this part is? 31400692

If it flies apart? I've seen some examples of these that are cracked and broken apart but mine is perfectly intact, do they fail as in stop opening and closing? I'm setting up a good test of the switch tomorrow after work to confirm if it is opening and closing. I see a post from you earlier in the ...

Re: P2 Can someone tell me what this part is? 31400692

I am having rough idle and reduced engine performance issues. Initially had MAF codes. (replaced the MAF with a new Bosch but that did not help) I noticed it runs better in the warm months. I checked all air intake, hoses etc for vacuum leaks. It sounds like my brake booster vacuum pump I always ...

Re: rough idle and acceleration in colder weather

turns out my fuel filter was toast. I bought a new one but then compromised the fuel filter connector o-rings pulling them off. (I replied on another older thread so forgive me if I'm repeating here.). I should say, they were basically rusted on there. Nothing was getting them off without prying ...

Re: Disconnecting fuel line from filter, why does volvo use fuel connectors from hell ? (And how to disconnect them ?)

Wow you really tried to get those off. I ended up prying mine off and pulling the o-rings out, didn't ruin the o-rings though. If I didn't ruin the o-rings and the grey clips, is there a chance I can just put it all back together and clip them on? Anyone ever done this. It would save me from having ...
