Re: 2000 V70-XC dash lights for ABS traction control on

Yep, the engine was still running when it was measured at 17 volts. It would have kept climbing higher than that but, I turned the engine off because it was spitting out acid from the battery.

Re: 2000 V70-XC dash lights for ABS traction control on

So after I recharged the new battery I got because it did not have a lot of power, I used a volt meter/tester on the battery right as I cranked the car. Before being cranked, it was showing 12 volts, which is normal. But, after cranking the car, the meter was reading 17 volts, and climbing from ther...

So, I tested that battery that is new that did not work this morning and it is fine. Which could only mean it is, infact, the cables and/or Alternator. I guess I will check that next.

Re: 2000 V70-XC dash lights for ABS traction control on

So the ABS and traction lights are off now. But, now my battery keeps dying. I got a brand new battery yesterday and the car cranked up. But, this morning I try to crank it and it doesn't work. What could be draining or killing my battery?

How much do you think it would cost to replace the ABS and is there a way to test it to make sure that's what is wrong?

Re: 2000 V70-XC dash lights for ABS traction control on

For some reason, the car was trying to stop itself so that it wouldn't keep moving. It felt like the traction control was trying to stop the car while I accelerated it. A guy that I know who works on Volvos told me to unplug the ABS fuse under the hood. And after that the battery was smoking a littl...

Where is the ABS module located? And how could I tell if the radiator fan is seized? Thanks.

I went to my friend's house to borrow his OBD and checked the code. He works for honda and looked at my car and noticed there was a hole in the house at the radiator. It was on the bottom so i couldn't see it. He noticed the hose was poping and there it was. It was large enought that my finger could...
