Re: 99 S70 GLT... Anybody know what this broken wire does?
Aha, that would explain it. I can't recall the last time I saw a low wiper fluid warning. My windshield wipers and wiper fluid do work, but I removed my headlight wipers after a minor front end collision that required a new bumper cover (couldn't find a cheap bumper cover with cutouts for the headli...

99 S70 GLT... Anybody know what this broken wire does?
Does anybody know what this broken wire/white plug is used for on a 1999 S70 GLT? It's located near the passenger side headlight, between the headlight and the wiper fluid reservoir, right in the middle of the picture below. I've noticed the wires frayed before, but they're totally broken now and wh...

Re: Long Cranking Time on 99 S70 GLT
Yeah, mine changed from starting up immediately to having this issue back in maybe October. Seems like I can just live with it, but it's bugging me that something changed and I can't figure out what. And I'm always worried that whatever the problem is could get worse and cause a real issue without a...

Re: Long Cranking Time on 99 S70 GLT
...I've noticed that if I turn the key to position 2 and wait 8-10 seconds, it starts up perfectly every time. Less than that, and it usually takes a long time to start. Did I get a bad fuel pump or something? Fuel system is priming just for 2-3 seconds when key is in pos.II....after that the relay...

Re: Long Cranking Time on 99 S70 GLT
Been a while, lots of cold weather and travel preventing me from messing with the car. However, I've noticed that if I turn the key to position 2 and wait 8-10 seconds, it starts up perfectly every time. Less than that, and it usually takes a long time to start. Did I get a bad fuel pump or something?

Re: Long Cranking Time on 99 S70 GLT
I'm already in the process of randomly replacing stuff, so pile it on haha. Though the spark plugs and coils aren't that old... I did all of those about 2 or 3 years ago. I also bought a new fuel pump relay first in hopes that was my problem, since it was relatively cheap, before replacing the fuel ...

Re: Long Cranking Time on 99 S70 GLT
The battery is maybe 2 years old so it should still be good, but who knows. I'll check the battery cables and see if any look bad, and Google how to check with my multimeter to make sure. I'm hoping it's not another wiring problem... I had enough of that last summer. Though recently at autozone I pu...

Re: Long Cranking Time on 99 S70 GLT
That is interesting... Good to know roughly how quickly and how much the pressure bleeds down. I wasn't able to check my fuel pressure after a single turn to position 2 this morning, the hood was frozen shut after the snow and ice we got overnight. My thinking is that I should have decent pressure t...

Re: Long Cranking Time on 99 S70 GLT
Good idea, I'll look there and see if anyone is nearby. I spent a little while this afternoon looking around under the hood, and I noticed a couple things: 1. The middle fuel injector looked a little wet all over and black on one side. Could just be oil from the oil cap leaking, since that's the clo...

Re: Long Cranking Time on 99 S70 GLT
The fuel pump was a Delphi fuel pump assembly, new from FCP Euro. I'll look for bad vacuum hoses too while I'm under the hood
