I'm looking at a really nice 1998 Volvo S90 for sale. I'm interested, but some websites say it requires premium fuel and others say regular. I DO NOT want a car that drinks premium gas. Can this car run fine on regular or will it damage the motor or something?

Your Volvo was engineered to run regular unleaded 87 octane gasoline. A 2000 Volvo S80 was neither a premium required or a premium recommended automobile. The use of a higher octane gasoline would neither give you better performance or fuel economy, it would simply be a waste of your hard earned cash.
