Re: Resonator leaking

Yes, I had the exact same thing done by my guys on my 2004 XC90. They just welded the new pieces in and all is well. No magic - just cut, weld and clamp as required. In my instance, after about a year they had to go in and cut out some other rusty pieces and do the same. Better approach is to have a...

Re: When does a CEM need programming? 2001 Volvo S60

A CEM needs programming in two cases: 1) if it has no software loaded (brand new) or 2) if the software loaded is not correct for your vehicle (debate is open on loading different software, but consensus is it can be done). If you have a working CEM with a bad connector, you can swap the connector f...

Re: 04 xc90 t6 running on motor

Now I understand. Do you have any codes or a check engine light? If you can put air pressure in the turbo lines, make sure the valves on both turbos move. If you pressurize the hose at the Turbo Boost Control Solenoid you will know if you have both a leak and whether the valves are working. You may ...

Re: 05 XC70 S4 and S5 shift solenoid no voltage

I agree with everything vonbaron suggests, and like the light idea. Think of your problem in pieces. Piece #1 Bad Solenoid(s), piece #2 bad internal harness and piece #3 faulty something outside the transmission. VOM and direct power at the harness will help diagnosis 1 and 2, while vonbaron's sugge...

I don't understand your problem. Can you explain with more detail?

Re: 05 XC70 S4 and S5 shift solenoid no voltage

I would start by confirming you do not have a wire harness issue. You mentioned testing - was this performed before you reassembled the valve body? If not, what you have to do know is test the solenoids through the harness to see if you have an internal problem. The intermittent issue hints at a con...

Re: Believe the dipstick or manual for correct oil level?

Really tough call on how much to put in as too much could cause problems and too little could cause the same. No way to know what is the correct amount, other than the factory manual, other than to pull the pan and actually measure. I have read about after market and related models using different l...

Re: tranny clunk

Rvolvos glad the SeaFoam TransTune worked for you For others - it is worth a try, but the earlier solenoids were updated so they flow freer (at least that is what I have read) so cleaning with a solvent would have better results. Just something to think about, but as I said, for $8 a bottle it is cl...

Re: S80 T6 automatic problem.

Two points. First as Rick states the transmission is a very slightly modified GM 4T65E transmission. Other than a few hard parts which are larger or slightly different, the rest of the transmission is GM. All of the solenoids are GM. All of the clutch packs save for one are GM. Every major transmiss...

Re: o2 sensor?

Rucho26: Sounds like you are having problems with codes P0050 and P0154. I suggest you start your own post. That said - it appears you changed your O2 sensors and checked your fuses, but still have the codes. The two codes you list are for the upstream bank 2 sensor (this will be on the one nearest ...
