So --- there is a burned transistor in the CEM... surprised it is running at all, completely melted. gonna try to match it and re-solder a new one before sending to scrap yard...

Where is the flasher located? Is it possible that there is a bad connection there or is the cem the onlybthing that can cause this? Not worth fixing if it is the cem

No left signals "bulb failure message" but bulbs and sockets are good... switched the wires at the back of the CEM and problem moved with the CEM not the wires ( left blinked when right signal activated, fast flash and no lights for right when left signal activated) left doesn't work with ...

Looks increasingly probable that my ECM is causing idle problems ( stalling or redlining -- mechanic has ruled out any other problems)
So I see ECMs on ebay for dirt cheap -- anyone ever tried a swap like this?

UPDATE: map sensor wasn't the problem, so mechanic just unplugged it and it quit stalling -- the assumption nownis that the ECM is faulty... but now a new problem : The third time it was driven the engine was accelerating as if the pedal was about 20%... just idled up to about 20 mph or redlined whe...

Mechanic says manifold pressure sensor is either not working ($100 fix) or the CEM isn't reading it (not worth fixing)
