I forgot to mention I did have a bad remote module, it was almost a year ago, lol. I picked a used one up at the local salvage yard and once I replaced it I was able to lock/unlock the drivers door as above 5x's and then I could program the remote.

I wonder if you have a bad MAF sensor. Next time the car wont start, disconnect the MAF sensor and try starting the car. If it starts and will idle it sounds like your MAF sensor is bad.
