Re: TCM Control Module Adaptation - NOT Resetting the Adaptation

Thanks for putting all this information together. I've been going down the same path as you with my newly rescued 2004 XC70. I did the fluid, the B4 servo cover, and deleted the old adaptation and fluid counter as I read about in a UK forum. It has gotten a LOT better, and no longer shifts in a way ...

Re: 1999 Volvo S 70 Driver Door Thinks Its Open

I might have to try this myself. It looks like the previous owner just yanked the red door light out of the right rear door, and switched off the dome light switch. The sad part is, I don't know what happened to the red door light, so I'll have to find a replacement. I've also always wondered why th...

Re: Need Help finding Coolant Leak!

I put pressure to the cooling system. Water was dripping from the middle of the top of the timing belt cover about at the head base. I thought that it could be one of the two freeze plugs behind the cover in the end of the head. The only reason I knew they were there is because I happen to have ano...

Re: 2001 S40 ABS Module Repair

So are these typically solder failures, or component failures? Does anyone know?

Re: 1998 S70 vibration through car when driving

That sounds like a bad wheel bearing to me. You can jack up one wheel at a time, and lightly rest one hand on your coil spring while rotating the wheel with the other hand. The spring can help you pick up on vibrations that would be otherwise difficult to pinpoint when spinning the wheel slowly by h...

Re: Timing Belt Job Gone Wrong... '99 S70 T5

I couldn't figure out why 3 of them went, battery was unconnected while working but she did have 160k. I just had to replace 2 coils on my 99 S70. It was a project car than ran fine until the PO overheated it and blew the headgasket because he didn't keep his leaky radiator topped off. I replaced o...

Re: Help with 1999 B5254t - cranks but won't start

I'm glad to announce that it's running, too!

Except now, one of the headlight wipers got stuck. Looks like I'll be tearing it open and fussing with the PTC resistor/breaker.

Re: Help with 1999 B5254t - cranks but won't start

Well I unplugged the #1 injector corresponding to the #1 coil that was misfiring. The whole fuel system seemed to behave a little better this way. I upgraded to Torque Pro, and am now at least getting a number for the LTFT (though I haven't seen it change yet, and it's only -0.73%). I'll keep an eye...

Re: Help with 1999 B5254t - cranks but won't start

Thanks for the link. I think I found the right diagram, but it's not giving a functional pinout of the sensors. I might be able to go off the wire colors on the sensor side anyway. I borrowed a friend's scanner, he also showed nothing for the LTFT or the O2#1. So odd. Is this a Volvo thing? Am I goi...
