One more thing....when I am driving and the car starts to get hot (in the red), the Temperature will drop when the engine fan kicks off. It will shoot back up into the red when the fan kicks back on. Is this normal? Thanks again for all the input.

Hi, I am an Air Force wife whose husband is overseas and I am having a problem w/my car overheating. My dad is a retired mechanic and has suggested the thermostat needs changing. If anyone has an idea how I would go about doing this I would be so greatful!! Thanks for any advise!
