Re: 1996 850 Dust in Airbox from SAS?

Update in case anyone had the same issue: Pulled off the SAS hose from the airbox and plugged the port. Currently just clamped off the SAS hose so it can't spit dust into the engine bay, although I may need to make it its own little intake when emissions testing comes around. I tried cleaning the MA...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)

Running v70 R for $1200 in Seattle. Not listed as an R but appears to be one? Unless someone swapped some stuff? Would need to be verified by the buyer.

1996 850 Dust in Airbox from SAS?

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for the help. My mom's 1996 850 NA starting stalling when shifted into gear and other times under little load (sitting in the parking lot). Guessing it might be a MAF sensor problem, I opened up the airbox. The entire airbox was coated with a very fine, rust colored br...

Re: Front end wheel wiggle from 0-70mph (left-right tick-toc)

I would recommend checking your inner and outer tie rods. These wear out eventually and are fairly cheap to replace yourself, parts are less than 50 bucks from FCP Euro. One way to check the tie rod play is to put the car on jack stands, place your hands at 9 and 3 on the front wheel, and try to wig...

Re: 1997 850 sedan battery drains quickly

A common problem on these 850s is the glove box light. The plastic glove box gets brittle and cracks, not allowing the door to fully close, and therefore leaving the light on. Its worth a check--leave your phone on camera in the glove box and shut it to see if the light turns off.
