Re: Volvo 850 GLT Bulb Failur Lamp

It's embarrassing but I was not aware of a third brake light. The wife and I had taken turns pressing the brake pedal and monitoring the two brake lights...our eyes and mind were focused on the two brake lights. I removed the lamp cover then pushed in the middle under the lamp assembly and pulled it...

Re: Volvo 850 GLE battery drain

My initial test to check for light was a failure...I did not understand my new iPhone. So I went on this long journey looking for the cause of this current drain when in fact the glove box light was always on. My attempt to verify my original finding actually told me that I had made a mistake. But a...

Volvo 850 GLT Bulb Failur Lamp

The bulb failure lamp on my 97 Volvo lights up when brakes are applied. I replaced the rear bulb failure module, beneath the rear driver side light cluster, and nothing changed. Then removed the park light and the bulb failure lamp is on. So I have confidence that the bulb failure module is ok. Look...

Re: Volvo 850 GLE battery drain

I replaced the central locking relay/delayed inside lighting, 205-206, with no change in drain. I tested all the interior lights, then I found that my car has a tilt sensor which is also supplied by fuse 15. Located it in the upper passenger side of the trunk. Disconnected module 7/100 and my curren...

Re: Volvo 850 GLE battery drain

I've done the phone in the box trick already...also tested door switches. My next step is to isolate and disable the remote part from the central locking system. I appreciate any and all suggestions. Thanks, wlutz.

Re: Volvo 850 GLE battery drain

Found 2 suspects. Fuse 6 draws 9ma and fuse 15 draws 100ma. Fuse 6: the locking system, and fuse 15: OBD socket, courtesy lights, door open warning lights, remote operated central locking system. Any hints going forward? Thanks, wlutz

Re: Volvo 850 GLE battery drain

Oops...made a mistake on the previous post. The car is a 850 GLT and not GLE. Is the answer the same? Thanks, wlutz.

Volvo 850 GLE battery drain

My 97 Volvo 850 GLE measures a 150ma battery drain with everything turned off. The car is totally stock. Before I chase a problem that may not exist, can anyone tell me if 150ma is a reasonable number? Thanks in advance. Wlutz

Re: 97 Volvo850 Cruise control linkage

Thanks for confirming I'm on the right track...I looked at some close up pictures of the intermediate lever from both sides of the gas pedal and then bought the whole thing for $28. When it arrives I will learn how to remove and reposition that lever without breaking it. I had actually hooked the se...

97 Volvo850 Cruise control linkage

In order to remove a defective environmental control damper motor I temporarily disconnected the cruise control servo unit from the intermediate lever which is attached to the top of the gas pedal. This intermediate lever is now pointing toward the driver. I am trying to rotate it so it points towar...
